Project ACTION! Celebration of Life for L. Thomas Mangrum, Jr.

In D.C and nationally, Thomas was well-known and recognized as one of the leaders of Project ACTION! and as a tireless advocate for people with disabilities and people in the LGBTQ community. Thomas devoted his life to ensuring that the voices of people with disabilities and others who had been marginalized were heard and respected in decisions that shaped their lives and our communities.

His leadership, passion, and unwavering commitment to equity and inclusion made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know and work alongside him. Thomas was so much more than an advocate. He was a mentor, a bridge-builder, and a friend to so many. He was dedicated to opening doors, creating opportunities, and ensuring that every voice had the chance to be heard.

He leaves behind a powerful legacy. Thomas showed us the power of perseverance, courage, and the importance of standing together. His spirit will continue to guide and strengthen our community for generations to come. So many people were touched by his remarkable life. As we remember and celebrate his many contributions, we also remember his wonderful sense of humor, passion, and booming infectious laugh. His life was a blessing to so many people.
